Meet Our New Parish Administrator

Fr. Sam Giangreco

Dear Parishioners of the Niagara Frontier Catholic Community,

I am very happy that Bishop Mike has asked me to serve as your Parish Administrator. I am grateful for the opportunity to join you, get to know you, and to work with you in continuing the mission of Jesus and His Church.

This is a time of great change for the Church in our diocese, but it can also be a time of renewal and new life. Jesus tells us over and over again, “Do not be afraid,” and He promises to remain with us always. Because of that promise, we can look to the future with real hope.Whenever I need peace or direction in my own life, I try to remember not only who Jesus is, but where He is. He is right there in the tabernacle, truly present in the Eucharist, alive, waiting for us, and loving us. That is where I find peace and strength, and I believe that is where we will find the strength we need together.

I come to you after ten years of priestly ministry. I have served at Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna, Our Lady of Charity Parish in South Buffalo, and most recently in Blessed Family 7, primarily at St. Gabriel Parish in Elma. I have also served as a hospital chaplain at Kenmore and Buffalo Mercy hospitals.

I grew up in Clarence and am the third of six children. I attended St. Gregory the Great School in Williamsville, Clarence High School, and the University at Buffalo before entering Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora.

This will be my first assignment as a Parish Administrator, and I am looking forward to learning about your parishes, school, traditions, and the people who make up this Catholic community. I know that every parish has its own history, gifts, and stories of faith. I look forward to hearing them and discovering together what God is asking of us in this new chapter.

I come to you with faith in Jesus, confidence in His tremendous mercy, and great hope for what He will accomplish among us. I believe that, with our eyes fixed on Him, we can grow stronger in faith and help make the Kingdom of God more visible in our community.

I am here to serve you. I want to be present and available, and I want you to know that you have a priest who cares about and prays for you, and wants to walk with you.

I am very grateful for the people and the ministry of the assignment I am leaving, and I am genuinely looking forward to beginning this new chapter with you.

I look forward to meeting and listening to you, and learning how I can best serve you. Please know that I am already praying for you, and I ask that you please pray for me too.

God bless you all.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Sam Giangreco
