Dear Parishioners,

I want to speak personally about a complaint from 2018 that has recently received renewed attention on Facebook. I recognize that this may have prompted questions about me and my ministry, and I would like to offer some clarification.

_

The complaint concerned an adult woman, as the Diocese’s public statements explained. No child or criminal activity was involved. Following the diocesan review and the professional evaluation and remedial measures required of me, I resumed active ministry in 2019. I remain a priest in good standing.

_

The safety and well-being of the people entrusted to my care, including the children of our parish and school, are responsibilities I take seriously. Serving this community is an honor, and I am committed to doing so with integrity, compassion, and faithfulness to my priestly vocation.

_

If you have concerns or would appreciate a personal conversation, I welcome the opportunity to speak with you. You may reach me directly at 716-507-4575 or frsam@stpeterlewiston.org to talk by phone or arrange a time to meet.

_

Sincerely,

Fr. Sam Giangreco
